PRINCE2 2009 - Directing Projects with PRINCE2 part 73

Tailoring PRINCE2

Purpose

PRINCE2® is not a ‘one-size fits all’ method.
An inherent characteristic of the method is that it should be tailored to suit the particular circumstances of each project - indeed, this is one of the seven fundamental principles of PRINCE2.

This section discusses the generic aspects that need to be considered and outlines a systematic approach for tailoring.

A closely related term is ‘embedding’, which addresses how PRINCE2 is best adopted, adapted and implemented in an organization or enterprise.
Because the process of embedding focuses on the corporate organization - and not the individual projects - it is outside the scope of this manual.

A framework for embedding PRINCE2 is provided in the OGC’s PRINCE2 Maturity Model (P2MM).

All references above are in Directing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 unless stated otherwise.

PRINCE2® is a Registered Trade Mark of the Office of Government Commerce in the United Kingdom and other countries.
References to the 'manual' refer to the official publication by OGC. Everything in the manual is included in the product package.

This product contains EVERYTHING in the publications:

Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 - 2005 edition
Managing successful Projects with PRINCE2 – 2009 edition
Directing Projects with PRINCE2.
plus:
The Complete Project Management package.

And much more besides - at a fantastic price.
